According to the Ministry of Consumer Affairs, Food & P.D. (Govt. of India), New Delhi, this division has undertaken publicity-cum-awareness campaign for generating awareness amongst targeted beneficiaries through the state/UT Governments, DAVP and Prasar Bharti. For this purpose an amount of Rs.96.00 lakhs has been paid to DAVP in March, 2006 and Rs.1.00 crore to Prasar Bharti (in March,2008) for undertaking this campaign through Radio and TV channels. Apart from this, Rs.92.46 lakhs (52.40 lakhs in 2007-08 and Rs. 40.06 lakh in 2008-09 till January, 2009) have been release to State/UT Governments for undertaking publicity campaign in their States/UTs.
